Weekly Loves #4

Sunday again - how is this happening? I don't know about you but ever since I came into my twenties time has sped up times four! Anywhooo, here are my favourite picks from this week.

1. John Freida Frizz-Ease Secret Agent Perfecting Créme - €7.49
http://www.boots.ie/en/John-Frieda-Frizz-Ease-Secret-Agent-Flawless-Finishing-Creme_5626/

Not much to report on this product apart from it does exactly what it says on the tin (or bottle!). I use this when I straighten my hair or blowdry it to smooth down the inevitable frizz that likes to reside around the top of hair. It doesn't leave my hair feeling or looking greasey which gave it major brownie points in my book. My hair - only at the top/roots - gets oily very easily but I can still get away with not washing my hair - for a longer period of time that I care to mention - and use this everyday.

2. Retro Sunnies - Penneys/Primark €2

I LOVE these! Just look at them - they scream stylish in my opinion. I love the retro vibe these give as well as the incredible price - €2. Again, like my other sunnies I have from Penneys, I can't get over how good they look for such an amazing price. The two pairs I have satisfy my need for uber-cool sunnies enough to cease my lust for a pair of designer ones. Really why would I purchase a pair of sunglasses for €200 upwards when I can find gems like this for a 100th of the price? Yep, I can't think of a reason either.

3. Collection Volumising Mascara 10x - €5.99
http://www.boots.ie/en/Collection-Volumising-Mascara_1450132/

This has surprised me. I picked this mascara up after reading about it in Look Magazine's beauty pages. They claimed it was the best one on the market for volumising and it definitely does just that. To be honest, I have quite long and curly eyelashes (don't hate me) so a lot of the time I find I get along with most mascaras and can always get my lashes to look decent. However, I particularly like the brush on this. It's plastic and doesn't move - a brush I don't normally go for - as it means I actually make less mess when applying the product.

4. Wet'n'Wild MegaGlo Bronzer - approx $2.99
Available in most major pharmacies & Penneys/Primark & Dunnes Stores
http://www.amazon.com/Wet-Wild-Illuminating-348-Starlight/dp/B001T8UFT8

This bronzer actually featured in a favourites video in the last few months but once I broke it into a million pieces I stopped using it because of the hassle. This weekend I went to a friends birthday and wore this again and loved it. I only really reach for it when I have quite a bit of fake tan on because - as you can see - it's very dark. It does give a gorgeous bronzey glow though. It's definitely not matte which makes it more suitable for a night time glam look.

5. MAC Pro-longwear Foundation - NC30 approx €25-€30 Available in Brown Thomas
UK site: http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/shaded/158/10180/Products/Face/Foundation/Pro-Longwear-SPF-10-Foundation/index.tmpl

This is also a product I wore to the birthday party this weekend as I was more tanned than usual. This is the first time I've tried this foundation and now I'm hooked! This is just a little sample pot of it but now I really want the full size. You should definitely ask for a sample next time you're in there - they're free and you can see if you like the product before purchasing. It actually stayed perfect all night which is like a breath of fresh air for me - I find it so hard to find foundations that stay perfect from application to removal. This also made my skin look airbrushed due to the medium-full coverage. I barely needed any powdering over this either as it drys quite matte but I still managed to fake a glow using other products alongside it. It's the perfect night-out foundation!

5. Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan - €7.99
http://www.cocoabrown.ie/ I bought mine from Primark!

Like I've been mentioning - I was wearing fake tan this weekend for a birthday party and this was the one I was wearing. This is my favourite tan at the moment - it just comes out so natural and is the easiest one to apply. I'm no expert when it comes to applying fake tan let me tell you! I can never defeat the monkey hands effect and often find streaks the next day despite my extreme efforts and various angles I attempted to apply the tan. This comes out as a mousse and you can see the colour so you know exactly where you're putting it - genius! It's also just the most gorgeous tan colour - not too yellow. It also fades off my skin pretty decently which surprised me because tan likes to come off all scaley and gross on my skin - even with exfoliating the crap outta' myself! This is less noticeable and fades nicely.

So that is everything I have been loving and using all week. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and apologies for lack of outfit posts and fun things but I am currently studying for my exams which start this coming week (ahhh!). So bear with me and stay tuned for loads of outfit and makeup posts (maybe even some packing for California posts!) in a weeks time.

Love, Kensey xo
